LEVEL 1
Level 1 charger - 120-V standard outlet
Operating with a standard 120-volt outlet, Level 1 chargers are primarily designed for home use. Utilizing household alternating current (AC) electricity through a three-prong plug, these chargers necessitate a dedicated 15 amp circuit for optimal functionality. It's essential to avoid overloading the system by refraining from connecting other electrical appliances to the same circuit. While Level 1 charging is the slowest option, it steadily adds around 2 to 5 miles to your LEAF's driving range per hour.
LEVEL 2
Level 2 charger - 240-V home and public charging
Level 2 chargers can be used at home or public charging stations, but at-home charging requires a 220-240-volt outlet, installation of additional charging equipment, and a dedicated 50 amp circuit . Some level 2 EVSE chargers have different circuit current requirements. Refer to the manufacturer’s requirements for electrical installation.
LEVEL 3 (DC FAST)
Level 3 fast charger - 480-V public DC quick charging
DC Fast Chargers, can only be used at designated public charging stations. Fast Chargers can replenish up to approximately 80% of your battery’s charge in just 30 minutes. Level 3 chargers are only compatible with certain electric vehicles. Most level 3 chargers are compatible with the Nissan LEAF
Learn all about Nissan EVs charging times.
Charge times on your Nissan LEAF will depend a number of factors that will affect how long it will take, such as the type of charger you use, battery capacity, temperature and more.
CHARGE YOUR NISSAN AT HOME
It’s important to know how to charge your LEAF in your house. Fortunately, charging your LEAF at home is as easy as plugging your electric vehicle into an appropriate dedicated outlet. Just be sure that no other appliances are being supplied electricity from the same circuit. If you’re using a Level 1 charger, plug the three-prong plug into a 120-volt outlet and the charging cable into your LEAF’s charging port. See Owner’s Manual for charging instructions and safety precautions.
Nissan Portable Charge Cable
With an innovative charging system, it's never been easier or quicker to get moving. With the available Home Charger (EVSE cable), you can plug in your Nissan LEAF in a standard 220V power source with a dedicated socket. CONVENIENCE
GET EXCLUSIVE PARKING SPOTS
Numerous cities and businesses are championing eco-friendly transportation by providing dedicated parking spaces equipped with charging stations specifically designed for electric vehicles. This added convenience and priority parking are compelling advantages that contribute to the appeal of owning a Nissan electric vehicle for environmentally-conscious drivers.
PAY LESS FOR MAINTENANCE.
Maintaining Nissan electric vehicles offers significant advantages compared to traditional gasoline-powered cars. Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts, resulting in a reduced number of components that experience wear and require regular maintenance. This leads to lower maintenance costs over the lifetime of the Nissan electric vehicle, providing both economic and environmental benefits for owners.
Fuel Savings: $834 avg. per year
Electric vehicles are less expensive to fuel than gasoline vehicles. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the average American drives 13,500 miles per year. Assuming a 28 mpg gas-powered vehicle and $2.85/gallon, the average gas vehicle costs $1,374 per year to fuel. For an average electric vehicle, we’ve used Energy.gov’s assumptions of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour and 33 kilowatt-hours to travel 100 miles to arrive at an average EV cost of $0.04 per mile. At 13,500 miles per year, electric vehicle charging costs around $540 on average. Therefore, switching from a gas to an electric vehicle could save you up to $834 per year versus a gas vehicle.

MORE REASONS FOR A ELECTRIC NISSAN
DRIVING A BETTER FUTURE.
Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
By replacing a gas vehicle with an EV, you'll reduce your vehicle's carbon footprint up to 76% per year. If every American followed your lead, we'd reduce our country's total carbon emissions by 22%.
FEDERAL EV CHARGER TAX CREDIT
A federal tax credit may be available for 30%, up to $1,000, of the total cost of buying and installing an EV charger in your home. Tax credits reduce taxes owed but do not guarantee a tax refund. Always consult with a tax advisor.
MAINTENANCE SAVINGS
Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts, which means you save on maintenance. You'll never need another oil change, transmission flush, or timing belt repair again.
